Korail+ Guide 2026 for Foreigners: KTX, Suseo & Integrated Booking
Use Korail+ or Korail’s official foreign-language booking website to search current train services, and confirm the departure station before paying. Korail announced its integrated app in August 2026 and high-speed operations from September 1. Seoul Station and Suseo are different stations: choose the actual station on your ticket, not just “Seoul” as a city.

What changed in 2026?
Korail’s official announcement says Korail+ launched on August 3, replacing/updating the previous KorailTalk app experience. Integrated high-speed ticket sales for September travel began in August, and Korail states that high-speed rail operations were integrated from September 1.
What does this mean for tourists?
Older travel blogs may tell you to compare separate KTX and SRT apps or websites. For new travel after the 2026 integration, that advice can be outdated. Use Korail’s current official channels and search both Seoul and Suseo departures when it improves your itinerary.
How to search trains
- Open Korail+ or Korail’s official global website.
- Enter departure and arrival stations.
- Select date and passenger count.
- Compare departure station, train time and fare.
- Choose a seat and complete payment.
- Save the reservation details offline.
Foreign travelers can also book on the web
Korail maintains an official foreign-language booking site. Korail has also promoted QR access to its foreign-language reservation site and says overseas-issued credit cards can be used there. If app registration or language settings are inconvenient, the web option is an important backup.
Seoul Station or Suseo?
Choose based on where you are staying and the specific train. Seoul Station is convenient for central Seoul and AREX connections. Suseo can be more convenient for southeastern Seoul, including parts of Gangnam and Songpa. Search both instead of assuming one is always faster overall.
KORAIL PASS
The official Korail global site continues to offer KORAIL PASS products for eligible foreign visitors. Whether a pass saves money depends on how many long-distance trips you will actually take. Compare pass cost with individual fares before purchasing.
Important booking tip
Popular weekends and Korean holiday periods can sell out. Korail’s global site states that tickets generally open one month before departure, although special holiday reservation rules can differ. Buy from official channels rather than paying unnecessary third-party markups.
FAQ
Can older SRT or KorailTalk instructions still apply?
Korail’s launch notice allowed the older apps to continue booking for a transition period, with limits on SRT guest bookings and benefits. Do not assume an old app has stopped working, or that its old instructions remain current. Start with the current Korail+ or official website and follow the rules shown for your travel date.
Can foreigners use a foreign credit card?
Korail has specifically stated that its foreign-language website supports overseas-issued credit cards.
Do I have to use the app?
No. The official Korail global website is a strong alternative.

Before paying: a six-point booking check
- Confirm the departure station in both English and Korean.
- Check the travel date, departure time, arrival station and train number.
- Choose the correct passenger count and seat type.
- Read the fare and cancellation terms shown for that ticket.
- Complete payment, then confirm that a ticket was issued; a bank notification alone is not a boarding document.
- Keep the booking reference and access instructions. Use the ticket format accepted by the operator; a saved screenshot is only a backup record unless the operator accepts it for travel.
If your overseas card is declined, check the issuer’s approval request and try the official foreign-language website. If payment remains uncertain, ask a staffed ticket counter before buying a duplicate ticket. Korail’s published foreign-traveler guidance confirms that its foreign-language website supports overseas-issued credit cards.
Find the right station on Google or NAVER Map
These map searches help identify the station area; follow your ticket and station departure boards for the platform. At Suseo, look for the high-speed railway entrance rather than stopping at an unrelated subway exit.
