Namsan Cable Car 2026: Tickets, Hours, How to Get There & Payment Tips

Place to Go · Seoul

Namsan Cable Car is one of the easiest ways to reach the upper part of Namsan near N Seoul Tower without hiking the entire hill. It has operated since 1962 and the current cable car carries up to 48 passengers over a route of about 600 meters.

2026 ticket prices

Ticket Adult (13+) Child (36 months–12)
Round trip KRW 15,000 KRW 11,500
One way KRW 12,000 KRW 9,000

The official site says tickets are sold on site only. Do not assume that an online reseller is the official Namsan Cable Car ticket channel.

How should a foreign visitor pay?

Because the official website confirms on-site payment but does not clearly list every overseas card network, the safest approach is to bring a physical credit/debit card and some Korean won as a backup. If your overseas-issued card is declined, ask the ticket counter for another supported method.

Operating hours

The official 2026 site lists 10:00–23:00, open year-round, with the last ticket sale 30 minutes before closing. Operations can stop early because of strong wind or other weather conditions, so check the official site on the day of your visit.

How to get there from Myeongdong

The official site gives two useful routes. From Myeongdong Station Exit 3, walk into the lane by the 7-Eleven, pass between Pacific Hotel and GS25, and continue uphill for about 7–8 minutes. Another option is to use the Namsan Oreumi inclined elevator from the direction of Myeongdong Station Exit 4.

Free shuttle bus

The official cable-car website also lists a free shuttle between the Myeongdong Station area and the cable-car parking lot. The current schedule shows departures from around noon through the evening, with some skipped times depending on the day. Because shuttle schedules can change, check the official page rather than relying on an old timetable.

One-way or round trip?

Choose a round trip if you want the easiest visit. Choose one way if you plan to walk down Namsan afterward or continue to another route. Sunset and night are popular for city views, while the official site notes that mornings are generally less crowded.

Is the cable car ticket the same as N Seoul Tower admission?

No. The cable car transports you up Namsan; the N Seoul Tower observatory is a separate attraction with its own admission. You can still enjoy the outdoor Namsan area without buying an observatory ticket.
